Psychotherapist

I believe that change and growth are not necessarily linear, especially during a healing journey. As someone with lived experience managing chronic pain and invisible illness, I recognize these issues pose unique challenges to mental health, including anxiety, depression, stress, panic, guilt, shame, addiction, and trauma. They can affect self-confidence, autonomy, relationships, and more. I love supporting others navigating their mental and emotional health alongside chronic illness. My approach We will work together to find the therapeutic approach that best fits your goals and needs. We might draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Approaches, Solution-Focused Strategies, and more. I like to be integrative because healing is not "one size fits all." My focus I support people navigating chronic illness, pain, and medical trauma. I also have years of experience with addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, dual diagnosis, and more. My communication style It's important that clients feel seen, heard, and in the driver's seat of their therapy experience. I am collaborative, often asking how you feel, how things are working, and what we might do differently. My goal is to ensure you feel supported and empowered in our sessions. My journey to mental healthcare I began as an educator and realized many students had needs I couldn't support in that role. This inspired me to pursue advanced training in counseling. I hold a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University and a Master's in Counseling from Youngstown State University, equipping me to provide compassionate, informed care to those facing complex mental health and chronic illness challenges.
