“Stephanie has been my therapist for a few months now, and I am happy to say that I've made a lot of progress with her. While the format is different from other talk therapy I've had before and took a good amount of getting used to, being a patient of this practice has helped me make tangible progress on relationship issues, anxiety, and depression. I could not recommend this practice more to someone looking to feel better!”

“I’m so happy I found Stephanie! She’s so versatile, warm, and helpful. I came to her for grief support but she’s equipped to help with such a wide range of issues. Stephanie provides the perfect balance of warmth and non-judgmental support while still being solution-oriented and dedicated to seeing me improve. She will not waste your time or money! As someone who wasn’t sure if TEAM CBT would apply to my situation initially, I can say it’s been so helpful on such a deep level. It’s such a valuable way to identify and reframe thought patterns and I think everyone could really benefit from it. I’m prompted to give feedback at the end of each session, and Stephanie makes me feel totally comfortable doing so honestly. I feel like our sessions are completely tailored to my needs, even as they change on a weekly basis. I’ve never had this level of communication and customization with a therapist before and I’ve found it so valuable! Can’t recommend her enough!”

Getting to know Stephanie Morfitt

I specialize in helping women who feel weighed down by anxiety, self-doubt, or overwhelm. Many of my clients appear successful on the outside yet privately struggle with overthinking, people-pleasing, or feeling disconnected from themselves. My passion is guiding people from that place of overwhelm toward a life that feels calmer, lighter, and more connected. The foundation of my work is TEAM-CBT, a structured, evidence-based model created by Dr. David Burns at Stanford. Unlike traditional talk therapy, TEAM-CBT is active and results-focused, blending compassion with powerful tools for change. Together we track progress every session so you can see real shifts in mood, confidence, and relationships. Many clients notice meaningful improvements within about 12 weeks. Each session is collaborative and practical. You’ll learn proven methods to quiet anxious thoughts, ease self-criticism, and break free from stuck patterns. Therapy doesn’t stop when our session ends, you’ll leave with concrete strategies to use in daily life, so change shows up where you need it most. Clients often tell me this approach feels both structured and deeply personal, combining warmth and humor with the challenge and support they’ve been looking for. With more than 20 years in the mental health field, I’ve worked in nonprofits, hospitals, government agencies, and private practice. My experience allows me to support clients facing anxiety, self doubt, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My ultimate goal is simple: to help you feel more confident, more at peace with yourself, and more connected in your relationships. Therapy is an investment in your well-being, and I would be honored to walk with you as you create a life that feels freer and more fulfilling.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you have tried before and left feeling stuck. Many of my clients tell me they want more than a place to vent. They want real tools, strategies, and momentum. With me, therapy is both compassionate and action oriented. You will feel truly heard and understood, and you will also leave each session with practical steps to practice in daily life so that change continues outside the therapy room. You do not need to have everything figured out before we begin. Even if your mind feels blank or your goals feel unclear, we will uncover them together. I will guide you with a balance of warmth and structure so the process feels clear, purposeful, and encouraging. You will also have progress tracking and feedback built into our work, which allows you to see the shifts you are making over time. Many clients find this both motivating and reassuring. What is most important to know is that therapy with me is a true collaboration. I bring expertise, structure, and support. You bring honesty, effort, and a willingness to try new approaches. This partnership is what makes meaningful and lasting change possible. Above all, you do not have to carry everything alone anymore. Reaching out is a courageous first step, and my role is to walk beside you. I will support you when things feel heavy, challenge you when you are ready to grow, and celebrate with you as you discover your own strength and resilience. Together we will create a path toward feeling calmer, more confident, and more connected in your life and relationships.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with clarifying what matters most to you. In the first sessions we identify your goals, explore what has and has not worked in the past, and start using tools that create change right away. I use the TEAM-CBT model, which includes Testing, Empathy, Agenda Setting, and Methods. This framework ensures you feel deeply understood while also moving steadily toward relief and lasting change. A typical process looks like this. We set clear goals together. We use weekly measures to track your progress. We check in every session about what feels helpful and what does not so therapy is always tailored to you. Therapy is not just about what happens in the room. Between sessions I may offer short practices such as mood logs, communication skills, or mindfulness strategies so you can keep building momentum. Many clients notice meaningful improvements within a few months and often tell me they feel more hopeful and empowered than they expected. As therapy continues, we adjust to meet your evolving needs. Some clients prefer a focused, shorter term model that creates change quickly. Others choose longer term work for deeper growth and lasting transformation. Either way, you will be learning tools you can carry for a lifetime. My role is both supportive and active. I will listen with compassion, but I will also challenge unhelpful patterns, teach strategies that work, and encourage you to practice self compassion along the way. The process is structured yet flexible, purposeful yet infused with humor and humanity. My ultimate goal is to help you feel calmer, more confident, and free to create the life and relationships you want.

I love working with Stephanie because she helps you work on what’s happening in your life in the here and now and how to change your patterns. The book she recommended opened my eyes to a new way of thinking and her “homework” assignments served to reinforce those lessons. Stephanie has always made me feel heard and understood. With her guidance, I’ve able to let go of the anger and stress that had been overtaking my life. I highly recommend seeing Stephanie if you truly want to make positive changes in your world.
I worked with Stephanie from 23 to 29, some of the most formative years of my life, and I carry our work with me to this day. I often find myself pausing to ask, “What would Steph say?” What made our time so powerful was the space she created—safe, secure, and deeply respectful. She made it possible for me to disagree openly. She had a way of gently pulling out my own patterns, helping me see myself more clearly, and challenging me when I needed to be pushed—while also allowing me space to just feel, without judgment or pressure to “fix” things right away. Steph was my first experience of a secure attachment. She gave me courage to become the most empowered version of me. She helped me build resilience, authenticity, and self-trust that'll continue to serve me for a lifetime. She'd often do work outside sessions to better support me—which made me feel truly valued. The balance she strikes between empathy, honesty, and skill is rare. My work with her is one of my greatest blessings.
I am so grateful for my time working with Stephanie. She is incredibly kind, personable, and always made me feel comfortable and supported. She went above and beyond to ensure I felt heard and understood, while also providing the structure I needed. Her use of cognitive behavioral therapy gave me practical tools and guidance that helped me grow in ways I never thought possible. Thanks to her approach, I was able to reach realistic and meaningful outcomes. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.
Working with Stephanie was one of the most transformative experiences of my life. She has a rare gift for creating a space that feels both safe and empowering, which allowed me to take on challenges I never thought I could face. Her structured TEAM-CBT approach gave me concrete tools and strategies that actually worked — I was able to see real progress in areas that once felt impossible. Things like driving, flying, eating out, and even being alone had felt overwhelming, and through our work together, I experienced massive growth that changed my daily life. On top of that, Stephanie helped me navigate grief and my closest relationships with compassion, insight, and wisdom. Stephanie is an extraordinary therapist and human being. Her combination of skill, warmth, and genuine care makes her one of a kind. I cannot recommend her highly enough — she truly changed my life, and I know she has the power to help countless others do the same.
Stephanie is incredibly caring and empathetic but also pragmatic. I came in with one clear goal and her structured approach helped me accomplish it quickly. Additionally, she helped me realize the many areas of my life that I could think about and approach differently. She supported my growth throughout incredibly challenging family dynamics, career changes, relationship hurdles, and depressive symptoms. After working with Stephanie, I am more in tune with my body and emotions than ever. I have a massive toolkit of strategies for settling my mind when anxious or depressive thoughts creep in. This is because she would recommend I try pragmatic things outside our session time (e.g. journaling, mindfulness, lifestyle changes, etc.) and I would give it a shot - not realizing the profound impact it could have. I trust Stephanie immensely, and as someone who came into therapy with "trust issues" that's saying a lot! I couldn't recommend Stephanie more; she changed my life for the better!
After a back-and-forth discussion I recognized that Stephanie was a very good listener. She then followed up with several questions that caused me to think about my concerns in a different way. This was helpful in me overcoming what I realized was a static mindset. Her approach expanded my own thinking. I think she is a good therapist by guiding the client to self examination for an understanding of their issues.
I came to Stephanie Morfitt at a tricky time in my life. My life was not going in the direction that I woul wanted it to and my worst fears were coming true. My internal monolog and headspace was starting to do me physical harm and I needed a path out. I had not attended therapy before. I figured a therapist/therapy would just hear out my problems and help me change my perspective and find "whats wrong". Stephanie introduced me to the world of cognitive behavioral therapy. This method of therapy taught me the tools for feeling better, changing perspectives and taught me to question the internal monologs that were doing me harm. Ontop of this, I found Stephanie ultra caring, interested and "real" with me. She was the perfect tour guide to the world of therapy for me. Therapy as a whole can be expensive. The type of therapy Stephanie provided really encourages (and requires) you to do most of the work outside of the therapy itself. I found the overall experience worth the investment.
Stephanie has changed my life completely. I have been a client of hers for about 7 years now and she has been with me through so many hardships and celebrations. Stephanie is the kind of therapist that truly cares about her job. I have always felt empathy, safety, comfort, unconditional care, and support from her. It feels like I have had a second mom (that I can tell everything to without any bias) throughout this journey with. That is an example of how much love she gives to her clients. She’s there to listen and comfort, but also there to truly help you grow and become a person. I truly don’t know where I would be without her.
From the moment I met Stephanie, I felt completely at ease and comfortable opening up. She is warm, caring, understanding, and truly attentive, creating a safe and supportive space. The TEAM-CBT method has been a complete game changer in helping me move toward my goals and it’s the first approach that has given me such powerful results. I used to describe myself as feeling like I was constantly under a rain cloud, but now I feel bright, energized, and optimistic. I’m able to accomplish so much more and feel genuinely great overall. Working with Stephanie has been an incredible experience, and I cannot recommend her enough!
Stephanie comes with my highest recommendation. Stephanie brings a unique combination of heartfelt compassion, genuine warmth, and keen clinical insight to each and every session. She has been an incredible resource in guiding and supporting me through many challenges over the past six years, including mental health struggles, chronic health diagnoses, and relationship challenges. Through each of these challenges, Stephanie has both equipped me with the resources and helped me develop the skills I need to thrive. In the time I have worked with her, I have seen drastic improvement in my mental health and my ability to cope with life's challenges. Stephanie's TEAM-CBT approach helped me make concrete progress toward my goals, and her warmth, empathy, and compassion made the process of working toward those goals enjoyable. I'm incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work with a therapist as exceptionally skilled and compassionate as Stephanie.
