Stephanie Sanders, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) based in California. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Point Loma Nazarene University and my Master's Degree from Brandman University in Monterey, CA. I have been practicing for the last 6 years. I help individuals with trauma, addiction, and feelings of anxiety, stress, hopelessness, and depression by teaching the coping skills necessary for true healing to begin. I will be with you on that journey of healing and the path to finding your authentic self, gaining confidence and contentment both internally and externally. My approach I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for clients struggling to manage their day-to-day thoughts, feelings, and actions. We will explore cognitive distortions, challenge core beliefs, build mindfulness skills, and create safety for trauma work. I also often use Trauma-Informed Therapy by establishing safety, identifying and managing difficult feelings and triggers, addressing maladaptive coping skills, and incorporating mindfulness and body awareness training. My focus I love working with teens, young adults, and adults navigating difficult life transitions such as college, career, and family. I help them find their voice, power, and strength to gain a solid foothold in life. These clients are goal-oriented but often lack the tools and skills to manage challenging thoughts, feelings, emotions, and events. They may feel stuck, lose motivation, and feel hopeless about their futures. My communication style I create a safe and comfortable environment by breaking the ice with subtle and respectful humor. I am highly person-centered and open the space for whatever thoughts, feelings, or emotions may be present, allowing you to feel heard and supported.
