“I found Stephanie during one of the lowest points in my relationship, unsure if therapy could really help. Her expertise has helped me better understand both my partner and myself. She provides a safe, supportive space where I feel heard and offers resources that have made me feel less alone. Because of her guidance, I now take things one day at a time and feel stronger, more hopeful, and much better than when I first started.”

Getting to know Stephanie Turner-Johnson

Hi there, I'm Stephanie! Hello, and thank you for taking the time to look at my bio. I am Stephanie Turner-Johnson, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have experience throughout the spectrum of the field, specializing in adults dealing with the change of life, relationship, depression, and anxiety issues. My approach My primary approach to therapy is humanistic, which works well with my CBT problem-solving techniques. This allows me to get to know you better while guiding you through the problems you may be facing. My focus My ideal client is someone who understands that change takes time and that therapy requires time, trust, and dedication to making changes that can sometimes be difficult but rewarding. I focus my practice on adults aged 18-60 years old. My communication style I am honest, transparent, and caring when speaking with my clients, which sometimes means telling them things they may not want to hear, but always in their best interest. I am often told that I am warm in my approach. My journey to therapy My journey began with curiosity sparked by non-fiction literature that drew me into the field of psychology during my teenage years. Reading about how much therapists help clients grow seemed very rewarding. I began my training by double majoring in Psychology and Sociology at the University of California, Irvine. Working in a clinic focused on ADHD and Autism made me realize the need to further my education. I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. My goals for you Clients need to set their own goals in therapy because it’s their session. My approach is to allow my clients to grow and learn while developing skills to tackle their challenges. My first session with you In the first session, I will gather important information to complete the intake assessment.
