Getting to know Stephen Wise

Hi there, I'm Stephen! I'm Stephen Wise, LPCC. As a therapist, I specialize in supporting individual adults in navigating their feelings, thoughts, and actions. My goal is to help them adapt to whatever challenges life presents, fostering greater fulfillment and reducing emotional pain. My approach I listen with compassion and empathy and collaborate with clients so that painful experiences and emotions become life-giving. In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to alleviate anxiety and depression by helping clients replace inaccurate thoughts with more helpful ones. Additionally, I incorporate Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to support clients in experiencing and processing what is going on inside. My focus I primarily work with adults of all ages who are experiencing anxiety or depression related to various factors. This includes difficulties in adjusting to stressful conditions, such as relationship issues or life transitions, including changes in one's beliefs or values. I also offer support to individuals dealing with mental health issues such as OCD. Additionally, I work with clients on a journey of healing from traumatic experiences and provide guidance and support for coping with the emotional impact of medical issues. My communication style I provide a safe, accepting, and affirming environment for my clients to talk about whatever is going on. I actively listen for emotional cues that provide insights into what is essential for clients' progress and healing. By identifying these key areas, we can explore them more deeply and work toward meaningful growth. My clients often describe feeling understood and validated, appreciating that I give them my full attention and engage in interactive and collaborative therapy sessions. My journey to therapy I always wanted to help people transform painful events and feelings in their lives to bring about growth and energy for fully living.
