Getting to know Steven Krautkramer

I have been in private practice for over 15 years specializing in trauma healing primarily using EMDR and Somatic style therapies. I work with trauma because it is frequently at the core of problems from chronic stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD and C-PTSD. It is a gentle and supportive approach that also challenges long held limiting beliefs while helping the person regulate their nervous system to create lasting change. This goes beyond just talking, it also explores attachment styles and your personal story. Frequently clients experience more joy, stronger relationships, as well as the ability to set boundaries.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want clients to be able to freely express themselves without fear of judgment and the toxic shame that comes with that. My practice welcomes people of any faith, gender identity, sexual orientation, kinks, or beliefs. You are encouraged to use whatever language you wish to express yourself. I do try to bring a sense of humor to this work as it can greatly help the therapeutic alliance and help the work progress.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I favor an organic approach to sessions, meaning we start with what is currently going on in your life and if there are any specific topics you wish to explore during the sessions. Trauma work can sometimes be deeply personal with some things being difficult to talk about. We do not have to discuss anything you do not wish to if you aren't ready to go there. I may encourage you to try, but nothing should forced and boundaries must be respected.

Steve is amazing to work with! Respectful, communicative, relatable, and humble. Easily the best I've had an opportunity to work with.
Steve is a joy to work with. He’s always on time, very attentive, and always thoughtful. He’s sensitive to what I’m going through and what I want to focus on while providing solutions and creative ways for me to manage the stress and anxiety of daily life.
From the second I walked in the door I knew Steven was going to be a force for good and fantastic therapist and he STILL managed to exceed my expectations. He is NOT the type of therapist that bobs there head and asks "and how did that make you feel?" He's not afraid to challenge you when he sees an opportunity that you can handle. Steven is charismatic, real, insightful, and considerate. I could not have asked for a better professional confidant and feel so lucky to have found him. He's taught me that therapy doesn't have to be depressing or dull - in fact it can be really enjoyable! Can not recommend him enough.
Been seeing Steve since 2019 and my life has changed completely. I am learning more about myself each session and the accolades he carries speak for themselves. Thank you, Steve, for helping me better understand myself. Looking forward to our next meeting.
