Getting to know Sunshine Wilder

Hi there, I'm Sunshine! Hello, my name is Sunshine Wilder, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida. I earned my Master's degree in Social Work from the University of New England in 2004, after completing my Bachelor's degree at the University of Southern Maine. For the past 19 years, I have worked with children, teens, and adults in various settings such as child welfare, specialized therapeutic foster care, and outpatient therapy. My approach I consider my treatment approach to be eclectic, incorporating modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Modification, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Coping Skills Development. My focus I have experience working with individuals facing a wide range of needs, including stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, anger management, depression, ADHD, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attachment issues, and Bipolar Disorder. My communication style I create a safe and positive environment for my clients, providing a space where they can comfortably share their feelings and know I am here to help. I believe my clients feel empowered and hopeful about their situations when working with me. My journey to therapy I have always had a strong desire to help people. I am driven to continue working in this field because I want people to heal from their trauma and go on to live peaceful lives. My goals for you I believe you are the expert on your story and that you have many strengths to help you overcome the challenges you face. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change. I am here to support and empower you on that journey. My first session with you During the first session, I like to gather background details regarding your history and current symptoms and begin to build a therapeutic relationship.
