Hi, I'm Susan Maehre, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Counseling from the University of West Georgia. If you are feeling overwhelmed, struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, or grieving over a loss or multiple losses, I would be happy to work with you in a safe and comfortable environment. I have been counseling for 20 years and enjoy supporting clients as they navigate their challenges and concerns. My experience includes grief recovery, anxiety, depression, marital concerns, and other issues. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you should be proud of yourself for reaching out. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I’ll meet you with compassion, and together we will find ways to grow, heal, and work toward a fulfilling life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Many indicate they feel better, and relieved of stress, grief, and emotional pain; they indicate feeling heard. They are not often interrupted by me but are given the space to express themselves fully. I use helping skills learned for my profession to assist in this, and cllients often feel empathized with and heard.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
