Getting to know Susan Lux

Do you ever struggle with negative self-talk? Feel overwhelmed with life in general? Have episodes of depression, anxiety, or trauma and aren’t sure how to gain control over your emotions? Have you had a bad experience with a therapist in the past? Sometimes wonder if you might have an issue with alcohol or substances? If any of this feels familiar, my name is Susan, and I would love to meet with you. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles. My practice works with individuals who identify as straight or LGBTQAI and have a history of anxiety, depression, trauma, or substance abuse. I work with everyday people struggling to make sense of “why do I do what I do.” Life is complicated enough… therapy should not be.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My primary goal is to help people understand that there are reasons why we act and react in certain ways and that everything we do has purpose. Once we can understand why you do and say certain things the follow up question is “is that still working for you?” If it works great, but if you are not getting the response or results that you want then maybe there are different strategies you can use to get you closer to your desired outcome.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
