Getting to know Susan Oliver

Hello! My name is Susan (Sue). I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)/Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and I have worked as a licensed therapist for the last 24 years. I have worked in many settings with varied populations. My experience includes treating people in the hospital setting (Emergency Department); in schools; on military installations; incarcerated individuals; providing in depth services to children, adults and their families in the home; as well as providing outpatient (OP) therapy services. Treatment experience has included crisis intervention, trauma related issues, mood disorders, anxiety, grief/loss, stress management, anger management and treatment of the chronically and seriously mentally ill. Just as we are all very different as individuals, our life journeys are also unique and at times we all need help navigating our way through the ups and downs in life. We need someone to listen, hear us, understand us, and provide us support. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment in which you can explore and process your thoughts and feelings, and develop strategies and skills to help you feel better and reach your therapeutic goals. No one knows you better than you, so we start with your strengths and build on that foundation. Therapeutic techniques used include person centered therapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing and strength based therapy and skills building.
