Hi there, I'm Susan! Hi, my name is Susan Resnik. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Counseling Psychology from McGill University. I focus on Individuals, Couples, and Adolescents. My therapy emphasizes personal growth, self-actualization, reducing mental health stigma, and advocating for better access to resources. My approach I commonly use Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness and Acceptance Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. My focus With couples, I address communication, conflict resolution, parenting, blended families, remarriage, premarital, and infidelity issues. With individuals, I work on anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, separation/divorce, anger management, emotional regulation, assertiveness training, life transitions, and self-esteem. With adolescents, I focus on anxiety, depression, self-esteem, assertiveness, and emotional regulation. My communication style I create a safe, supportive, accepting, and nurturing environment. I put clients at ease and make them comfortable. My style is that of a listener, encouraging reflection and new self-insights. Sessions fly by as clients leave feeling relief, empowerment, hope, validation, and motivation—looking forward to the next session. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to therapy by a desire to help others overcome challenges and improve mental health; an interest in human behavior and psychology; personal experience inspiring me to support healing journeys; and the opportunity to make a positive impact in people’s lives.
