Do you feel overwhelmed by day-to-day living? Is there something weighing heavily on your mind that is affecting your ability to function as well as you want to? Being able to talk about those feelings with someone can be a huge relief. I believe that establishing a good relationship between the therapist and the client is critical to the healing process. Using a non-judgmental approach, I work with my clients to explore and identify the root cause of their distress, and together, we set goals for managing or overcoming the source of the issue. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and have been fortunate to gain 27 years of professional experience in many settings with a variety of people. I have provided individual, group, and family therapy for teens involved in the juvenile justice system. Additionally, I have worked as a school social worker, school administrator, autism consultant, behavior coach, public speaker, and parent trainer. My professional development has been expansive and often tailored to the needs of my position and clients. I feel it is important to meet you where you are and listen to your story. It takes courage to reach out and ask for help. You have taken the first step in recognizing that something doesn’t feel right. I will meet you with compassion and evidence-based strategies to overcome the things holding you back from a peaceful and joyful life. I am ready when you are!

What should a new client know about working with you?

During the first session, I want to hear from you about the things that led you to therapy in the first place. This is your time to tell your story. By the end of the first session, I like to set goals with my client about what they would like to get out of therapy, whether it be gaining certain skills or learning to be more open. As we continue our sessions, I get a sense of a client's personal beliefs about themselves and how this contributes to the way they think and feel about situations. We talk about how this influences the way we respond. I may provide clients with information packets, visual examples, or homework to reflect on outside of our sessions.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
