Therapy is a process and a journey, a journey I am glad to be part of. As a therapist for over 30 years, therapy begins with an assessment of the client's needs and goals. Therapy is client-focused, meaning, you, the client determine your goals of treatment, what you want to achieve, want you want to get out of therapy. I am here to help understand goals, if those goals are, at first, confusing and overwhelming. Over the years I have worked with Post-traumatic Stress, Abuse, Anxiety, Depression, Family Dynamics/Conflict, Family Relationships, Life Transitions, Life Crises, Anger, Self-Doubt, and Low-Self Esteem. I look forward to working with you as a collaborative team. My approach As a therapist for over thirty years I have become skilled at using a variety of approaches in therapy including Cognitive Beharioral Therapy. My focus is on the individual tailoring my approach to the individual's specific needs and experiences. I create a in a safe and non-judgmental environment to help promote the client's self-awareness and resilience. My focus Client's typically enter therapy in crisis. My ideal client, with my help, will understand that I cannot fix them, but I can help them to make changes in their lives to improve the way they see and relate to the world. My communication style I communicate in a non-judgemental caring tone and encourage the client to tell their story. My journey to mental healthcare When I entered undergraduate school, I informed the counselor I wanted to help people. She responded, "then you want to be a social worker." This was the best advice I ever took. I began my journey competed by graduate training and my three years of clinical internship. During my thrity years, I have worked with individuals, families and groups. I have worked in clinics, hospitals, and schools. I have been a supervisor and Director of Mental. I continue to enjoy my journey.
