Getting to know Susan Winfield
You've made an important decision to start therapy, and I'm glad you're here. It has been said that therapy with me feels like talking to your "auntie." I help you see yourself in such a nurturing way that you can truly receive it, allowing you to do your work.
My gifting lies in assessment and working with adults and couples. I have always been involved in mental health assessment throughout my career. Most recently, I spent five years in Grady's Psychiatric ER, which has equipped me to quickly assess needs and develop life plans with clients.
Couples work is also a skilled area for me, especially when communication has broken down, often evidenced by constant arguing. Therapy can help break couples out of destructive tit-for-tat cycles. I specialize in issues such as broken trust, infidelity, and unforgiveness.
Women's concerns and issues are very important to me. I've done extensive work in healing the father wound, tapping into the spiritual relationship for healing. Topics include relationships, self-development, and growth. Another successful service I offer is a therapeutic walkthrough of popular books, including RC Blake's *Queenology* and Sophia Nelson's *The Woman Code*. Currently, I am authoring *The Majestic Woman Mindset*, which is based on a women's empowerment curriculum I developed.
I hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, which has further deepened my understanding and skills in this work.
So whether life is just happening, you're experiencing grief, a relationship is starting or ending, or you're facing struggles with depression, anxiety, or other disorders, reach out. Success in life is about making good decisions, and starting therapy is always a great one!
What should a new client know about working with you?
When you're ready to do the work, I'm ready to navigate your wellness journey.
In the intake session, I listen to hear your reasons for coming to counseling and what you would like to achieve. I provide insightful feedback and perspective and together goals are identified. Reaching those goals becomes the therapeutic work that happens in therapy.
The work does not take a long time…just takes intentional effort and commitment…change happens!!

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I will admit I was a bit nervous about therapy. I thought I would have to go through 5 different therapist just to get to the right one. Thankfully, I found candee first! My experience with her has been so healing. It’s been 2 months with her and I feel like I’ve made so much progress in such little time. And I’m so appreciative of this journey.
