I have twenty years of experience working in the mental health field and hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working with clients throughout the state of California via telehealth. My approach My approach to therapy involves utilizing evidence-based treatments tailored to the unique needs of each client. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients recognize the relationship between their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, and to identify and change maladaptive thinking patterns that cause feelings of depression and anxiety, which negatively impact their day-to-day lives. This helps establish sustainable positive change. I also frequently use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help clients learn and apply strategies to manage overwhelming emotions when they occur. My focus I work with adults and specialize in supporting clients whose lives are significantly impacted by depression and anxiety. My communication style I have a calm, accommodating style of communicating and work collaboratively with my clients. In each session, I provide a safe, warm environment. My clients can expect that I will actively listen without judgment, accept their unique thoughts and feelings, and provide unconditional positive regard. My journey to mental healthcare Since high school, I have known I truly enjoy helping others. I have worked toward bringing about positive change in communities one small step at a time by genuinely listening to friends, family, and acquaintances, providing emotional support, and volunteering to lead organized efforts locally and nationally to create positive change.
