Psychotherapist
2101 S Blackhawk St, Ste 240, Aurora, CO
Hi, I'm Suzanne. Sometimes teens and young adults need to talk with someone other than friends or family who can listen without judgment and help them work through the challenges they face. With 26 years of experience working with teens aged 14-29, both as a school practitioner and in private practice, I understand what teens and young adults need—what causes them stress, how important their social relationships are to them, and what kinds of coping strategies might work best for them. My specially designed programs and interventions can help teens improve self-esteem, reduce stress, gain confidence, plan for the future, and enjoy healthier relationships with friends and family. I believe teens and young adults will only be open to support once they trust that they are being heard without judgment and accepted just as they are. My approach to counseling is centered around helping teens and young adults see their own strengths and resilience. I love celebrating the growth that I see in my clients! I hold a Master's degree (MA) and am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My specialties include adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anxiety, family relationships, grief/bereavement, life transitions, intimate/romantic relationships, stress, suicidal ideation and/or self-harming, trauma, and depression. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer virtual sessions. Here's what my clients say about me: "She is real and down-to-earth—a great listener who understands the challenges and stressors of being a young adult today!" I look forward to working with you!
