“I was very nervous starting therapy for the first time, but Sydney made me feel so comfortable! She is such a great listener and she is so compassionate and empathetic…. Sydney truly made me feel heard. She has been able to help me connect the dots and we’ve come up with tools that have really helped me on my path. We have a long way to go, but I feel confident the name of finally going to be able to address all the crazy stuff that’s been in my way for so long. Actually, I think the fact that I finally stepped into therapy, it feels as though some of the weight has already been lifted off. My shoulders. And there is no pressure!”

Getting to know Sydney Goldberg

Hi! My name is Sydney and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I’m here to support you through whatever life is throwing your way. I take a person-centered, compassionate approach to therapy. This means you set the pace, and we work together to figure out what feels right for you. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just need someone to talk to, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and truly supported. I use a mix of practical tools and deeper reflection to help you build insight, cope more effectively, and make meaningful changes. No pressure, no judgment—just real conversations and genuine care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m a therapist who brings honesty, warmth, and a little bit of humor into the room. I show up as a real person—direct when it’s needed, but always with care and gentleness. I believe in being upfront with my clients while also creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and even a little playful at times. I’ll always meet you with care and consistency, but I can’t want the change more than you do. This is your process, and I’m here to help you own it.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we start working together, the first thing I focus on is building a strong, trusting connection and figuring out a plan that fits what you need and want. Therapy is a team effort, so your thoughts and feedback are really important, and we’ll tweak the plan as we go. I’m a big believer that real change happens not just when we meet, but in between sessions too. That could mean journaling, trying out new coping skills, having tough conversations, or just paying attention to patterns in your day-to-day life. Change takes time, practice, and small steps—at a pace that feels good for you. My goal is to make sure you have a safe, judgment-free space where you can be yourself and work through whatever’s going on.
