Hi there, I'm Tammy!
Hello! Congratulations on taking action! My name is Tammy Murphy, LMFT. I am a Licensed Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling from California State University, Sacramento. My primary specialty is treating anxiety and depression. I utilize a variety of evidence-based practices to help my clients heal and succeed. Life can be challenging, and we all need support from time to time. Although pain is part of life, suffering doesn’t have to be! I believe most people have a sense of what they need to do. The question is what gets in the way of doing it. Together we will find answers that improve your quality of life!
My approach
My therapeutic approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and engaging. I use evidence-based practices, including CBT, ACT, DBT, Mindfulness, Solutions-Focused, and Strength-Based modalities. I also like to add a touch of humor!
My focus
My primary specialty is treating anxiety and depression. I also help clients improve coping skills, self-esteem, and body image. Additionally, I assist with sleep, job stress, career issues, life transitions, relationship challenges, and ADHD.
My communication style
I create a warm, engaging, and nonjudgmental environment. Each client gets my undivided attention. You will feel heard, respected, appreciated, and empowered!
My journey to therapy
I love being a therapist! From the first psychology class I took, I knew I had found my calling. I establish strong, caring connections with clients and become invested in their healing and success. Working with clients gives me a sense of purpose!
