Getting to know Tanasha Hooks

Honest Conversations and True Healing is my mission! Hello, my name is Tanasha Hooks. I’m a licensed psychotherapist and owner of Emotional Wealth and Wellness LLC. I hold a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Webster University, along with the following certificates and licenses: MA, LCHMC, LCASA, NCC, and CCMHC. My clinical expertise spans 7 years working in mental health and substance abuse, with experience supporting adolescents, young adults, and working professionals facing mental health and substance use challenges. Currently, I work with professionals navigating life and career transitions. My specialty is understanding and processing transition. I recognize the transformation process and can assist you in reaching your life goals. Change is not an easy process—neither the decision to pursue it nor the steps necessary to accomplish it. Together, we will uncover what is keeping you stagnant and unfulfilled. The therapeutic process is tailored and individualized for you. Let’s come together, talk, plan, and create the life you dream about.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our sessions there may be times that we have some difficult conversations however, I will be nonjudgmental, empathetic, and authentic. If you are searching for a therapist that will provide a safe, confidential environment where you can explore your thoughts/feelings, receive constructive feedback and discover the greatness within you, then contact me...now is good of a time as any! To start with, sessions are usually scheduled once weekly and they are 60 minutes long. Each session has a “flexible structure” to them that includes 5-15 minutes of check-in, 35 minutes of work on symptoms/treatment plan goals, and 5-10 minutes of “debriefing” that includes a recap of the session, any homework assignments and plans for next session. Although there is a structure to my sessions, you can expect flexibility, openness and freedom.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Mrs. T is an amazing woman. She is easy to open up to and I am appreciative of how she picks apart the issues that I struggle with and the steps that I can take to work on them. I enjoy my sessions with her and look forward to this journey that we are on.
