Getting to know Tandy Mackey

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Georgia, holding a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University. My experience comes from providing direct mental health and behavioral counseling for teens and adults with a variety of presenting issues, including anxiety, relationship and family challenges, trauma, community violence, gender identity, and depression. I approach the therapeutic relationship with acute sensitivity and respect for multi- and cross-cultural factors. My clinical experience includes working with a diverse population across race, youth, families, and adults, informed by firsthand experience navigating generational and cultural differences. Representation for minority groups in the broader mental health field remains limited, and one of my professional goals is to create greater intersection between my personal knowledge of Western cultures and my professional experience in providing mental health support. My experience spans various settings, including community mental health agencies, school environments, and day treatment facilities, where I have provided individual and family therapy. I believe we are all products of our closest relationships, environments, family systems, and every moment leading to the present. I strive to treat the therapeutic relationship-and you-with compassion, respect, and warmth. My therapy style draws influence from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Psychoeducation, and Structural Systems. A top priority for me is to meet you where you are and tailor treatment and my approach to what will work best for us as we collaborate to meet your goals. Whether you seek enlightenment and insight or symptom relief and improved functioning, my hope is that we can work together to achieve it. It takes great strength and willpower to pursue a more fulfilling and happier life. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

She has been an amazing help in my marriage. Even my husband is open to talking in our sessions now and he is NOT an open person!
Tandy is a true professional who clearly cares very much about her patients. She's direct, warm, and very empowering. I've felt safe with her and actually had hope for the first time in a long time. Ms. Tandy really knows her stuff and is excellent at getting to the heart of things and giving new perspectives. She is honestly one of a kind and I would recommend her to anyone for both individual counseling and/or marriage/relationship counseling.
She's the best!
