Hi there, I'm Tara! Tara Beach is a queer, millennial mom of two, military spouse, and therapist specializing in PTSD/trauma, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ issues, veterans, and perinatal mental health. I hold a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loyola Marymount University and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work to create a safe, supportive environment for clients to work through their challenges, manage emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and gain greater insight into their behaviors. My approach I create a safe space for my clients to learn effective coping skills, develop healthy habits, and explore the issues that are keeping them stuck in patterns that just aren't working anymore. I often utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to build adaptive coping skills and challenge unhelpful belief systems and intrusive thoughts. I also practice Somatic Experiencing and help my clients learn ways to hack their nervous system to increase their capacity to stay regulated and handle stress without becoming overwhelmed. My focus I am a trauma nerd, and the majority of my clients have experienced trauma in their lives, even if that is not the focus of what brought them into therapy. Other groups I love to work with include moms/parents, LGBTQ+, ADHD and generally neurospicy folx, anxiety, OCD, depression, PTSD, and veterans. My communication style I try to create a generally relaxed atmosphere where my clients can feel safe to tap into their emotions and body sensations without feeling judged. It is a space where no topic is off-limits to explore, and dark humor is not only tolerated but occasionally encouraged. My goals for you Determining therapy goals is a collaborative process. We will discuss the challenges you are facing, what you want to be different in your life, and the steps we can take together to get you closer to those goals.
