Taylor Curran, LMHC

Psychotherapist
FL
Hi there, I'm Taylor! I’m Taylor Curran, a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I utilize person-centered therapy to focus on each individual's unique needs and goals in therapy. I specialize in substance abuse, anger management, relationship issues, and improving self-esteem. My approach I combine person-centered therapy with cognitive behavioral therapy so we can explore how our thinking affects our behavior while keeping your needs at the forefront. My focus I have experience working with males and females ages 18-65 who are seeking guidance on how to improve their lives and be their best selves. My communication style Most of my clients would say I’m pretty laid back. I try my best to match the energy of my client in terms of tone of voice and presentation. I know when to be confrontational when it’s therapeutically beneficial, of course. No matter what is being said, I am nonjudgmental and strive to meet you where you’re at. My journey to mental healthcare What drove me to become a therapist is a deep desire to help others, even when I couldn’t always help myself. After working through my own mental health challenges, I knew this was the path I wanted to pursue. My goals for you I like to utilize SMART goals. I believe goal setting is an essential part of therapy (and life), so I work with you to create goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. My first session with you I use the first session to understand who you are and what brought you to therapy. It may look like generic questions as I gather information about your history, but it’s really centered around getting to know you and what you want to get out of therapy.
