My name is Teresa A. Kellstrom, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing since 2009. I split my time between private practice and working in a non-profit agency. I have experience working with clients of all ages, particularly adult individuals facing overwhelming life stressors and adjustments. I welcome the opportunity to work with you! I earned my master's degree in Counseling Psychology from California State University, which deepened my passion for helping others and equipped me with the skills to support my clients effectively. My approach to therapy is client-centered, focusing on providing you with insight and tools to help you in your life. I create a safe, judgment-free zone for therapy sessions. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you get the most out of your time in therapy. I offer individual, couples, and family therapy to those seeking to improve their lives. My passion lies in working with survivors of domestic violence and those in troubled relationships. My goal is to equip you with the tools to be happy and productive in your life. In sessions, I provide a safe, judgment-free space for you to express yourself openly. I believe in being direct with my clients so they can maximize the benefits of counseling. In my mid-thirties, I reevaluated my career and decided to pursue something more fulfilling. With a full-time job and family responsibilities, returning to school for my master's degree was challenging but ultimately rewarding, allowing me to follow my passion for helping others. Setting goals is the best way to move forward positively without dwelling on past mistakes. I will help you identify where you want and need to be in life and support you in reaching those goals.
