I am currently in transition—moving from Rome, Italy to Lisbon, Portugal. I am available during my day, though these are odd hours for those in Virginia and California!
About me:
Thank you for taking the time to read about me and see how I can best support you. Grief can be incredibly isolating, but please know you are not alone.
I am a licensed clinical social worker, author, speaker, and therapist with a "grief lens." I believe that most issues people carry as adults stem from unresolved grief, which snowballs as we get older and encounter additional losses.
A new, current grief event activates all the grief and losses we've experienced in our lifetime. It's so intense.
Loss can be intangible or tangible. We can grieve the loss of connection, a relationship, support, a pet, financial stability, health—even the loss of expectations (where we thought we'd be or what we thought life would look like at this point).
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from George Mason University and my Bachelor’s from the University of West Florida. I have been trained as an advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist by the Grief Recovery Institute. I provide grief counseling and the Grief Recovery Method virtually to anyone. I would not offer this method if I did not witness my clients finding healing! It is so rewarding to be alongside my clients as they "close the loop" on unresolved issues.
I am a military spouse, and we are currently living in Portugal (hence the odd hours I am available!).
This work is deeply rewarding, and I am honored to sit with someone as they process loss.

I had lost my sister in 2021 and I was so down and out for months. Going through this program with Thera has improved my life so much. I can now think more positively about the great times I had with my sister vs regretting all of the things I could have done better or should have said. You can ask my wife, I have done a total 180. I feel Thera really got to know me and my sister. She is a great listener and she always has good feedback when you are struggling. The exercises that you do in this program are unmatched by any other. They really make you think. Thera is very passionate about her work and i really appreciate her!"

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
