Getting to know Theresa Donsbach
Healing is the best method to overcome adversity. It is your way of saying ?I am taking my future back.? We are a product of our experiences, yet they should not determine our trajectory. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Supervisor (LCSW-S) in Texas, certified in Traumatology, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Critical Incident Debriefing (CID), and Animal Assisted Therapy, with over 25 years of experience. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Alabama, my Bachelor's from the University of South Florida, and my Associate's from the University of Florida.
I utilize a person-centered approach, facilitating an individual's introspection in identifying the thoughts fueling emotions and how they influence our behavioral and physiological reactions. I have vast experience working with children and adolescents using Play Therapy, as well as adults addressing issues related to trauma, foster care, adoption, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, grief and loss, and life circumstantial changes. I come from a First Responder family and have worked within this population. I understand that the life view coming from these responsibilities looks different and recognize their needs are unique.
I believe in providing trauma-informed care with Rural American values?treating with kindness and compassion; encompassing a community approach that recognizes we are social beings and facing life challenges should be done together. Some of the worst tragedies have opened doors to the most awe-inspiring experiences of personal growth. The level of human resilience is a journey of humbling amazement, and I am blessed to walk beside you in this adventure known as life.
NOTE: All children under the age of 12 will need to be seen in person. Teens may be seen via tele-health.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am currently seeing clients in person at 2D Counseling, 219 Gene Autry Drive,#A, Tioga, TX 76271 or via tele-health (teens and adults only). I will send you Intake forms via email, that will return via encrypted Electronic Medical Record. I also have a therapist dog, Lizzy, that is available at my office. Due to a one person office, if I am in session, there will be a sign on the door to wait until available. Please NOTE: All children under 12 must be seen in person.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Our first session will be an Intake, in order to get some basic information, safety needs, and identify your personal goals for therapy. Based upon your individualized needs, future sessions, dates and time frames will be made with your needs in mind.

More information on payments and coverage
If you have In Network insurance, the billing person will confirm your deductible and/ or copay and we will bill for your sessions. You will be responsible for paying your copay at each session. If you are Out Of Network, you will be responsible for payment and we will provide an invoice to submit to your insurance company. If you are self pay, we will collect at each session. We are unable to accept Medicaid (due to not being In Network) at this time.
