“He is incredibly perceptive, compassionate and understanding. He offers real time ideas to help yourself. Often instead of telling me , he asks , which provokes real consideration on what you’re really going through and what the root problem is. His approach is not “ your feeling this way because”. It’s more like where do you think your thoughts originate or what do you believe is causing your thought. We have had serious break through moments.”

Getting to know Thomas Cagle

Hi there, I'm Thomas! I am a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in the State of California, with a Master's degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from California State University, Fresno. I have over 24 years of experience working with clients facing various challenges, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, substance abuse, anxiety, bereavement/grief, and relationship issues. I've also supported many individuals who have experienced emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, as well as those navigating divorce and family custody matters. My counseling style is empathic, understanding, and genuine. Respect and compassion are core to establishing a healthy and trusting relationship. While my approach is primarily cognitive-behavioral, I also incorporate psychodynamic, DBT, person-centered, and rational emotive therapy. I firmly believe it is essential to be aware of cultural, LGBTQIA+, and lifestyle differences and to be sensitive to these issues. I will design our sessions and treatment plan to address these factors along with your specific goals and needs.
