Getting to know Tiffany Ellerby

Welcome. I practice psychotherapy from a place of warmth, respect, compassion, mindful presence, and curiosity. Therapy can be a place to explore different sides of the self while taking a step back to gain a broader perspective. Whether you are here to manage stress, build self-confidence, or heal from wounds of the past, the first step is reaching out for support. You don't have to navigate this alone. I offer a safe space that is culturally aware, trauma-informed, and free of judgment. My approach includes a holistic focus on mental and emotional wellness, as this creates a healthy foundation for change. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and trauma-related symptoms. We can work using mindfulness, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), talk therapy, or narrative therapy. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. If you are ready to take the next step, I would be happy to meet with you for a free consultation.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The therapeutic space is one where you can feel safe to communicate your innermost thoughts and feelings; a space where you are seen and heard. Together, we will examine what constitutes a "safe space" for you. This will serve as a springboard for the therapeutic relationship and our time together. We will work together to not only set attainable goals but identify (real or perceived) problems that may be getting in the way of your success. This may include letting go of unhelpful coping strategies and engaging in new, healthier ways of being. I will help you to prioritize self-care, set boundaries, improve communication, regulate challenging emotions. Most importantly, I will support you with practicing patience with yourself during therapy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
