Getting to know Tiffany Hilborn

In my practice, I help individuals of all ages alleviate the mental health symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, and other common stressors. My clients become empowered to live the life they truly want and to consciously evolve for their betterment as a person. I’m committed to showing up as a genuine person who allows everyone to authentically express themselves without judgment. I care about my clients’ wellbeing and am here to help you feel heard and have your difficulties taken seriously, no matter your circumstances. My approach to treatment is collaborative, and each session is designed to provide a safe and reliable space for you to explore the depths of your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. I apply evidence-based therapeutic practices to help you build inner resilience, ultimately achieving optimal functioning while preventing the development of other mental health disorders. When clinically indicated, I use therapeutic tools like diagnostic self-report scales for screening diagnosis and severity of disorders. I diagnose mental health disorders with an inclusive mindset that supports cultural beliefs and influences. My clients have appreciated my ability to help them feel good about themselves, their self-determination, culture, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Additionally, I recommend beneficial resources to increase your self-understanding and offer you human connection to your community. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Santa Barbara, which informs my compassionate and culturally sensitive approach to care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Through the process of exploring your problem and history, I’ll provide you with education pertaining to your mental health symptoms and will begin to assist you in developing a more accurate understanding of what you are facing. Thereafter, a treatment plan will be formulated to help you achieve your preferred future and discussed with you throughout your therapeutic process. Generally, sessions are structured to assist you with realizing the importance of your experiences while getting to the core of your inner conflict. Additionally, you may access aspects of yourself and begin to integrate such information to facilitate new solutions to unresolved problems and build upon strengths and competencies.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
