Getting to know Timothy Wallace
I hold an independent license in counseling. My goal is to empower you to become your own inner therapist or coach, equipping you with the tools and confidence to navigate life’s challenges independently or within your relationships.
My approach
I use a variety of theoretical approaches, including acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and rational-emotive behavioral therapy. I apply my "rational acceptance" method to help you develop practical long-term tools.
My focus
I specialize in working with adults on mental performance coaching, performance-related anxiety, perfectionism, depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, Autism, LGBTQ+ support, and career counseling. I honor diverse backgrounds through a multicultural lens. I also coach couples and polyamorous relationships to foster connection and growth.
My communication style
When working with clients, I create a relaxed, open, and supportive environment that’s tailored to each individual. I believe that everyone’s journey is unique, so I take a laid-back and adaptable approach, adjusting to what works best for each person. Whether a client prefers a more flexible, intuitive style or a structured, goal-oriented approach, I’m here to meet them where they are. I’m also comfortable providing a more direct or educational approach if that’s what they need, ensuring that the guidance is clear and practical.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was never a fan of the superficial. I wanted a career that required authentic exploration of the human condition, one that went beyond surface-level interactions and delved into the complexities of people’s thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Coming from the medical world, it was important for me to find a path that allowed for this kind of depth and understanding. I sought a way to do this work in environments that were structured, supportive, and non-judgmental—places where genuine connection and growth could flourish.
