Getting to know Tonya Bunch

Hi there, I'm Tonya. Do you find yourself struggling with day-to-day life? Are you having a hard time with your relationships, work/life balance, and health? Is it challenging to be kind and loving to yourself? I help high performers, those experiencing emotional suffering, and trauma survivors manage burnout while learning emotion regulation, mindfulness, and trauma recovery. Together, we will identify what is working and what is not to help balance your life. I use a person-centered approach that considers your mind, body, spirit, and environment. I love using strength-based and mindfulness techniques to help you recognize the coping skills you already have to manage your struggles. Whether you are seeking help for anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship issues, I am here to support you. Seeking therapy can be scary, and taking the first step is often the hardest. I will meet you nonjudgmentally, no matter the issue. You are making the right choice. Together, we will build a therapeutic relationship to reach your goals. You deserve a space to heal and grow. In our sessions, I will offer compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hang-ups and habits holding you back. Let's work together! I hold a Master’s in Social Work from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, which informs my commitment to providing thoughtful, effective care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

What you can expect from me in our session is person-centered approach. Sessions are dependent on what type of treatment you are seeking. This is an example of how I conduct a session: I have a check-in by asking how your mood is. This is important for me to understand. Your mood tells me a lot. We discuss your week. I am always assessing you to consider your goals and that we are working on them. If there was a homework assignment, I would then switch to the homework assignment and review it. Yes, homework assignments are an integral part of therapy and important for your mental health recovery. Most homework assignments take about 5-15 minutes. Last, I will end session by asking the client to process assignment and assigning another assignment based on the type of therapy or what was processed.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
