TréSina Steger, LPC

Psychotherapist
VA
I’m a licensed therapist who works with adults navigating stress, transitions, and periods when life feels off balance or overwhelming. I take a structured, collaborative approach focused on understanding what’s going on now, building on what’s already working, and helping you move forward in a way that feels realistic and supportive. My approach What’s already helping you get through, even if it doesn’t feel like enough yet? My approach is strength-based, person-centered, and solution-focused. We build on your existing skills, identify small workable changes, and focus on practical steps that support steadiness, choice, and forward movement in everyday life. My focus I primarily work with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC adults navigating stress, burnout, and life transitions. Many of my clients are capable, thoughtful people who feel overwhelmed or stuck despite managing a lot on their own. I also work with adults from all backgrounds who are looking for grounded, practical support during periods of change. My communication style My communication style is direct, honest, and respectful. I don’t play games or talk in circles. I listen carefully, ask clear questions, and offer feedback that’s grounded and affirming. Sessions are focused, practical, and centered on what will actually help you move forward in real life. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to mental health work through lived experience and years of supporting people through stress, change, and complex systems, especially persons of color and the LGBTQ+ community. Becoming a therapist allowed me to do that work more intentionally. What keeps me motivated is helping clients build clarity, stability, and self-trust over time My goals for you I help clients reach their goals through a clear partnership built on honesty and shared responsibility. We identify what’s working, what needs to be worked on, and set realistic steps forward. There are no quick fixes—just steady growth that fits your real life.
