My name is Tracy Floyd I am a Florida Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), working with adults ages 20s to 90s I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Florida International University and my Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida My focus areas include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, grief/loss, and women’s issues My approach is client-centered, compassion-focused, and strength-based I endeavor to assist my clients in accentuating their strengths and working on the emotional and behavioral challenges they choose to address My approach Compassion and collaboration are the cornerstones of my work Theoretical approaches I have found effective include Client-Centered Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Reality Therapy, Family Systems, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy I incorporate more than one theoretical approach into each session to address the nuances of a client’s personality, mood, challenges, and goals My focus I currently work with adults and have decades of experience helping people of all ages with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, women’s issues, trauma, PTSD, grief/loss, self-esteem, social skills, and stress management My communication style My communication style is professionally casual I am a “down to earth” communicator who values authenticity while maintaining professional decorum I am strongly committed to providing a respectful, kind, and thoughtful space for sessions My journey to mental healthcare After completing my undergraduate degree in English Education, I worked as a mental health tech in a residential treatment facility for two years I then taught English for a few years but always missed working in mental health Eventually, I enrolled in the Master of Social Work program at Florida International University and never looked back.
