Getting to know Tristan Taylor

There are times when it’s tough to recognize that navigating life’s challenges has put us into survival mode, opening the door for increased mental and physical distress. This can lead to issues within our relationships, both personally and professionally. Life exposes us to discomfort repeatedly, making it hard to determine which way is up and what action will lead to personal fulfillment and success. We are only human, and it is natural to feel disconnected, confused, and mentally exhausted when trying to envision a life full of joy and purpose. Sometimes, just being heard and understood can provide the safety and comfort needed to kick-start our confidence and ability to explore a new view on life. My purpose in providing individual and group support is to assist you in exploring your sense of self and personal awareness, to provide perspective on which thoughts and experiences have led to your current discomfort, and to explore the effect this has on your life now, so we can uncover what a fulfilled and rewarding life will look and feel like for you. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. In six years of clinical experience, my focus has been helping individuals identify how recurring unhealthy thought patterns manifest as emotional and mental distress, leading to personal dissatisfaction. My goal is to help you remove these psychological obstacles so you can define or reconnect with the level of functioning necessary to maintain the life you truly desire. My professional approach is one of empathy, support, and acceptance, as I am aware we all progress at our own pace and have earned the right to be validated as individuals. My background includes knowledge and experience in treating depression, anxiety, substance use, addiction, trauma, grief, loss, and bereavement.
