Getting to know Tyler Barmby
Each client’s individual life experiences are unique and can lead to a variety of needs. I operate from an eclectic approach to therapy, utilizing a Rogerian client-centered process that identifies and builds upon each patient’s unique strengths. By being attentive to each patient’s experiences and needs, I work to implement the most effective strategies and approaches to support clients in identifying and achieving their desired treatment goals. I’ve found this process allows each therapeutic experience to be tailored to meet the specific needs of my clients. I work from a strength-based orientation, supporting patients in recognizing skills they already possess while collaborating to develop new skills that can help overcome life challenges and improve their quality of life in tangible ways. I work with clients who have diagnoses ranging from substance use and autism to anxiety and depression. My experience includes working with patients in community settings, including Non-Profit organizations in the greater Sacramento area. I hold a Master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Western Seminary.
