Valerie Dawkins, LCPC

Psychotherapist
MD
I am a faith-integrated therapist who helps strong, capable women break free from emotional exhaustion, people-pleasing, and painful relationship patterns. I blend evidence-based therapy with spiritual insight to help you heal at the root, reclaim your voice, and live from a place of freedom — not survival. You don’t have to carry it all alone anymore. At the end of the day, we're all just doing the best we can. So, congratulate yourself for the ways you found to get through it all, even if those ways no longer serve you. Together, we'll take an honest look at your life, and I'll empower you to pick up the pen and write a new story. I can help you find your voice and take back your power to own your life! My approach When we work together, I want you to feel safe, supported, and empowered — not just to cope but to transform. My approach is rooted in compassion and truth. I draw from evidence-based methods like CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), narrative therapy, and attachment-based work — but I always tailor our sessions to fit you as a whole person: your story, your faith, your struggles, and your goals. We’ll look at how your thoughts and beliefs are shaping your emotions and behavior, especially the ones keeping you stuck in shame, anxiety, or self-doubt. We’ll process emotional wounds in a safe space, especially those connected to relationships, rejection, or past trauma. Together, we’ll rewrite the story you’ve been living in... so it reflects your truth, your value, and the freedom God designed for you. I believe healing isn’t about fixing what’s “wrong” with you. It’s about helping you reconnect with your authentic self, step into your worth, and live from a place of freedom and peace. You don’t have to keep living in survival mode. Let’s do the healing work... together.
