Venita DeLeon, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Venita! Aloha! I am currently working with a variety of clients in all age groups and backgrounds in private practice. I stepped down from a corporate position as a Director of an Intensive Outpatient Program to get back to my roots. I would love to work with individuals, couples, and families to achieve their mental health goals. My focus I love people. In my career, I have been blessed to work with all ages and love the challenges that they bring. I work hard to ensure I remain focused on the individual's needs and assist them in discovering what works best for them. My approach I like to listen to my clients and adapt to their needs. See the world through their eyes, and then make the best decisions, learn optimal coping mechanisms, to get them where they want to be! I can be kind and compassionate, but also push my clients to see their truths and not sugarcoat their issues. My communication style I can be blunt and straightforward. I will ask the hard questions and encourage my clients to look in all the places they may not want to go. Only by processing our issues and addressing them can we grow and move forward. My journey to mental healthcare I started out as a Federal Corrections Officer and discovered I truly wanted to help people, especially our youth, so that they do not end up in our prison systems. I was a Registered Behavioral Therapist working with ABA Therapy. I am currently a Certified Triple P Parenting Provider and working on my Certification in the Unified Protocol. My goals for you I assist my clients in staying focused on their goals and always guide them back to what they want to achieve. I encourage them to explore a variety of coping mechanisms and offer psycho -education to make sure they understand their needs so that they may be their own experts.
