Veris Hawkins-Smith, LPC, treats each client relationship as unique and constantly evolving. She believes life is a journey full of obstacles that impact one's well-being, but any challenge can be overcome with the correct tools. Veris supports adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, anger management, and more. She is an expert at helping clients identify and understand unhealthy behaviors and create a plan for change.
In therapy, Veris uses a behavioral approach that includes CBT, Mindfulness, The Four Horsemen-Gottman, and other methods to help clients heal and thrive. She works with a diverse population and creates a welcoming office environment for all.
Veris earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Illinois University. She has experience helping both individuals and groups achieve their health goals.
