Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Veronica! My name is Veronica Gonzalez, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 20 years of experience working with clients. I earned my Master’s in Psychology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Over the years, I have learned that it is important for both me and my clients to feel strongly encouraged and gently challenged in order to make meaningful progress toward emotional well-being. My approach With so many clinical approaches available, I have found that the best treatment combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Family Systems therapy. This blend helps clients develop skills and gain increased awareness of how various factors in their lives have impacted them, enabling them to navigate these influences more easily while feeling supported by me. My focus I work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation issues, and relationship conflicts—whether with friends, parents, children, or co-workers. Many have found working with me to be a rewarding experience. Therapy is a team effort, and those who find it most effective are committed to the process, even if they feel nervous at first. No one can want change and healing more than the client. My communication style I have found that being gently direct is the most effective way to help my clients. I strive to be supportive by using affirmations and gentle challenges when needed. I encourage clients to consider new perspectives as we navigate the difficulties that naturally arise when discussing tough subjects. Clients have said, “Thank you for doing therapy the way you do; I never stayed with a therapist this long.” My journey to mental healthcare This is a meaningful question for me. As a teenager, visiting friends at their homes, I was intrigued by the conversations between my friends and their parents. This early curiosity helped shape my path toward mental health care.
