IMPORTANT: Thriveworks cannot provide services to clients with Medicaid coverage. If you have Medicaid, please contact your plan directly to find an in-network provider. For all other insurance plans, Thriveworks will verify your benefits after you book through Zocdoc. If verification isn't completed before your visit, you'll be charged our self-pay rate of $240 for that session. AFTER YOU BOOK: Complete these steps to avoid cancellation or being switched to self-pay. 1. Check your email for instructions to set up your Thriveworks account. Within your Thriveworks’ account, sign consent forms and add a valid credit card, which will be automatically charged for copays, fees, post-insurance balances, and self-pay amounts. 2. If using insurance, upload clear photos of the front and back of your insurance card. 3. Expect a confirmation call from our team to verify your information and answer questions. CANCELLATION POLICY: Provide 48 hours advance notice to avoid the $135 late cancellation fee. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and an Organizational Psychologist with 24 years of experience in the field. I completed my master's degree in Counseling at Valparaiso University and my doctorate in Organizational Psychology (PhD) at Walden University. In addition to my counseling practice, I am also an adjunct professor in a health studies department, where I teach courses in holistic medicine, human sexuality, stress management, and statistics. While I offer counseling and talk therapy services, I do not currently offer psychological testing. I began my counseling career in 1995 with the Aliveness Project in Gary, Indiana, where I worked with the LGBTQ+ community, providing outreach and prevention services. I also helped Spanish-speaking communities in Chicago before deciding to return to graduate school after questioning my abilities at the time. I agree with Freud's belief that everyone should be able to love and work.
