Vicki Matthews, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello there, I'm Vicki. Are you feeling the pressures of life or struggling with issues interfering with your daily functioning? I am here to empower you to be your own agent of change. Together, we can focus on what's working and what's not in your life, develop healthy coping skills, and find renewed balance. I'm an advocate of the empowerment model and addressing both mind and body connections. I've treated many populations, primarily kids and teens, along with adults, couples, and families. My approaches cater to the needs of my clients-I meet you where you are. These include CBT, DBT, REBT, Mindfulness, and other evidence-based interventions. I'm also an expressive therapist, using art, music, and narrative exercises to inspire creativity and healthy outlets. This comes naturally because I am a singer-songwriter and play guitar and piano when I'm not a therapist. I have an affinity for the LGBTQIA population and have done years of meaningful work in this sector. I also have extensive experience with substance abuse and co-occurring clients and have seen great outcomes in treatment with me. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University. I will be a compassionate and empathetic guide to change. I know seeking therapy can be scary, but be proud you are taking the first steps toward your personal wellness. You are in a safe place to start the healing process with me, and you will grow and heal with each session you attend. Together, you can achieve your therapy goals and work toward the best version of yourself. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our first sessions are all about getting to know each other, forming a therapeutic relationship and introducing the therapy process to you, my goal is to create a safe and comfortable space for you. As we progress, we will work together on a treatment plan, goal setting, and identifying the areas you are struggling in so, we can focus on your primary concerns. Each session, will bring different emotions, thoughts and body responses. This is normal as you start the process, since you are no longer stuffing things down, but getting them out. I want you to see this as a cleansing and healing portion of your journey.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
