Vickie Neapolitan, LCSW

Psychotherapist
FL
Hi there, I'm Vickie! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 21 years of experience, primarily focused on helping people with mood and anxiety disorders, especially within the LGBTQIA+ communities. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. My approach to therapy is to start where the client is within their change process, utilizing approaches that fit their needs. Most often, I rely on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or other Cognitive Behavioral Therapy models. The majority of my caseload has historically been members of the LGBTQIA+ communities. I have extensive experience with mood and anxiety disorders, enhancing motivation to change, and helping people with relationship or career stressors. My communication style is down to earth and approachable. I recognize the therapeutic process can be difficult and work to support clients through it. My journey to mental healthcare began while working on a PhD in English. I found myself spending a lot of time helping students with challenges outside the classroom, many rooted in depression or anxiety. I then worked in a public mental health agency before pursuing my Master’s in Social Work. After that, I continued working with public agencies before opening my own private practice in 2010. Goal-setting is individualized since every client comes to therapy with unique experiences and challenges. The first session is an assessment to explore your goals and also a chance for you to evaluate how well you think we will work together.
