Hello, my name is Victor Alcantar, LMFT, and I have over 21 years of experience as a mental health professional. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University. I have experience working with acute and chronic mental health disorders. I believe that the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, and actions is essential to your mental health and daily functioning, and I am certain that they form the foundation for healthy relationships with friends, family, and intimate partners in your personal life, at home, work, and within your social network. My favorite treatment modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, and motivational interviewing to facilitate the desired changes in your life and treatment objectives. Furthermore, I have extensive experience treating substance abuse disorders in relation to acute and chronic mental health conditions. I am fluent in both English and Spanish and take cultural as well as religious and spiritual sensitivity into account when treating my patients.
