Victoria Rowe, LCSW

Psychotherapist
1570 S 1100 E, Salt Lake City, UT
Victoria Rowe earned her Master's of Social Work at the University of Washington in 2020 and is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in both UT and in WA. While she works with all age groups, she specializes in working with youth and young adults ages 4 to 25. She also has a passion for working with parents and caregivers. Victoria has years of experience working with clients experiencing difficulties with trauma, depression, anxiety, self esteem, stress, life transitions, family issues and big behaviors that no longer serve us. She offers both individual therapy and family therapy sessions. Victoria holds deep empathy and feels honored to be a witness, support, and advocate to those she serves, moving alongside her clients in ways they feel best support them. Victoria has a deep commitment to social justice and equity, and considers things through a systemic point of view. This involves exploring how our family, community and society at large impact our mental health, including potential intergenerational and historic trauma, as well as trauma generated by systemic oppression. Victoria deeply believes that our identities and cultures are crucial to therapeutic work. Being a white, cisgender, heterosexual, able-bodied woman, she is deeply invested in creating an anti-oppressive and decolonized practice. She believes it is vital to explore how our identities produce meaning within our mental health, and that both our shared and our contrasting identities be explored in order to create a trustworthy therapeutic relationship. While Victoria uses evidence-based modalities, primarily CBT and DBT, she is rooted in using practices that honor the whole person in front of her, including their beliefs and their culture. Victoria also views children, as well as adults, through an attachment lens and uses play, art and sand tray based approaches.
