Getting to know Victoria Toscano

I received my Master of Social Work from New York University and completed my undergraduate studies in 2013 at Hunter College in New York City. As a therapist, I have helped countless clients overcome depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. My extensive experience with yoga, meditation, and travel contributes to my mindful, holistic, and culturally competent therapeutic approach. Clients often describe me as empathetic, caring, encouraging, and motivational.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Depression and anxiety are some of the most debilitating conditions that a person can face. Caught in their grips we may feel overwhelmed and paralyzed. We may start to think that we are broken or that something is wrong with us. Not realizing that such conditions are far more common than we think. What makes it even more difficult is having nobody to speak to about our experience. You’ve dealt with this alone for long enough; let me show you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Imagine the dark cloud of depression lifting from your mind. See your anxiety melting away like ice in the sun. You may have felt stuck for years but now it is time to move in a new direction. Together we can create the life you always wanted but didn’t know how to make. In our sessions, you’ll develop healthy coping skills and self-acceptance. You will learn to trust yourself and make decisions that empower your life.

Victoria has been awesome to work with! Every time we meet she is able to help me worth through all of the issues I have been having, big or small. She has a great perspective and a lot of great life experience that make her an exceptional person to work with. highly recommend!
Victoria is a great listener. She helped me unpack areas that I was not even concerned about but could have been unknown or ignored to me. She used many interesting methods other than just CBT that were more in line with my spirituality and worldview. I highly recommend Victoria.
I’ve been to many therapists and Victoria by far is the best fit for me. Not only does she listen but she is understanding and, most importantly, gives honest feedback. Victoria has alternative holistic experiences that she seamlessly integrates with her traditional therapeutic training. While seeing Victoria I have made a ton of progress and look forward to every session.
My teen age daughter had been suffering from depression for a few months and her pediatrician recommended that she speak to a therapist. After a difficult and long search for the right therapist who could help my daughter, I found Victoria and I'm so grateful to have found her. Being that this was my daughter’s first time doing therapy, Victoria was very gentle and compassionate to my daughter’s needs. She allowed my daughter to open up to her and took her time getting to know her and build a relationship. At my daughter’s initial meeting, she met with my husband and I as well. Victoria was very informative, knowledgeable, and understanding of our concerns and answered all of our questions. My daughter always looks forward to her sessions with Victoria and talking to her because she is sincere and compassionate and her responses are comforting to my daughter. Victoria is not only sensitive to my daughter’s needs but she also gives her great advice and the necessary tools that she can use whenever she has anxiety such as breathing exercises. Victoria has helped my daughter regain her self-confidence and strength and I will forever be grateful.
Works great with adults and kids. Very insightful, pleasant and easy to work with. Victoria was able to give me and my son tools to help one another.
Victoria was able to become my support system when nobody else was. As a therapist, she really cares about her patients and does a remarkable job at fixing habits and behaviors that are holding you back.
Victoria is very empathetic and caring! She helped me see a more positive future and reduce the negative thinking. She listens very carefully and she really cares about that I am saying and how I feel. I really enjoy talking to her and I do see an improvement in my moods and I am so thankful for that!
I would not recommend this therapist for anyone with disordered eating or that is easily triggered. She is old school and will tell it like it is. Not very sensitive or soft.
