Virginia Purnell, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
I have been licensed as a therapist in the state of California since 2015, and have been working in the field of mental health since 2010. I treat OCD, depression, anxiety disorders, phobias, trichotillomania, hoarding, trauma and grief disorders. My focus I am hoping to work with people that are open to talking about their mental health, (I understand that this is not always easy...being vulnerable) and have a desire to improve their mental health, in a small or a big way. I meet people where they are at. My approach I take a collaborative approach to therapy, working alongside clients to understand their experiences and develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. I believe that therapy can help clients build skills to move toward meaningful, lasting change, while creating a life that feels aligned with their values. My communication style I am a strong mix of warm and direct. This helps me talk with you about what is happening in your life, and also be able to make a plan to work on improving what you came to therapy for. My goals for you We will work together every step of the way. From building therapeutic rapport, to learning what brought you to therapy, treatment planning (i.e., what is your goal or intention for therapy). Our first session In our first session we will spend time building rapport, and I will make it a goal to understand how I can support you. I identify as... Female Caucasian or White
