Virginia Whitby-Hogan, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm Virginia! My name is Virginia Whitby-Hogan, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. I currently work with clients statewide via telehealth, serving both adolescents and adults. I specialize in depression, anxiety, stress, insomnia, mood disorders, anger management, behavior problems, PTSD, and other forms of trauma, utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Therapy. I also incorporate facets of DBT and other modalities depending on the client’s needs. My approach varies based on each client’s unique needs. I frequently use Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, as both have been shown to be effective in treating a variety of conditions. I adapt my methods as necessary because every client is different. I have worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds. My style and approach are a good fit for those transitioning through life or facing challenges who desire support. Whether clients have identified their needs or want to explore different solutions, I prefer to let them lead, while I actively listen, avoid judgment, empathize, and support them in setting goals to overcome challenges or find realistic solutions. My communication style centers on establishing a healthy rapport, empathizing, actively listening, paraphrasing, and summarizing. I strive to create harmony and an environment where you feel comfortable and safe to share. I chose to become a therapist because I believe it is my life’s purpose. I am passionate about serving and helping people overcome the many challenges we all face. Growing up, I saw several neighbors struggle with different conditions, and I was always moved to step in and support them.
