I am Wakisha Harvey, MBA, LPC, CPCS, with a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. I approach therapy from a client-centered perspective, placing significant emphasis on the client's experience within the therapeutic space. With 15 years of practice, my clinical focus includes adolescents, adults, and couples. Additionally, I specialize in Christian Counseling and Professional Career Counseling. My therapeutic approach is primarily psychodynamic and psychoanalytic, serving as the foundation of my work. I believe that a client-centered approach is essential to building rapport and creating a comfortable environment for clients. Depending on the client's presenting symptoms and needs, I also incorporate modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Couples Therapy, Family Systems, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My experience has been mainly with African American professional females and males, as well as adolescents, young adults, and couples. I work with individuals and couples addressing issues such as Depression, Anxiety, Stress Management, Conflict Resolution, Problem-Solving Skills, Trauma, Anger Management, and Mood Disorders. My communication style is open and welcoming, encouraging free-flowing conversation. I strive to create a setting with minimal anxiety and confrontation, allowing clients to feel comfortable discussing the intimate details of their lives. My passion for people continues to drive my therapeutic work. Before obtaining my degree, I worked with diverse populations in various settings. I furthered my career by becoming a Certified Professional Clinical Supervisor because I value the ethics and importance of our work with clients and the role of supporting clinicians on their growth and licensure journey.
