Walt Fritz, LPC

Psychotherapist
VA
Hi there, I'm Walt! Born and raised in FL for the first 10 years of my life. I spent the next 8 years with my family in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. At age 18, I moved back to FL, then moved to NC for graduate school. I moved to TX and have lived here since 2022. My approach My therapeutic approach is eclectic, typically using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, using interventions from Adlerian Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Reality Therapy, Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Strategic Family Therapy when deemed appropriate. My focus I will help you find solutions and do my best to decrease symptoms associated with depression and anxiety. My goal is to help you live your best life, can feel the way you feel. My communication style I ask open-ended questions with no right or wrong answers to help me understand your schema, how you perceive your reality. I use a non-judgmental , congruent approach to help you "find your way". Some days you I am Sherlock, and you are Watson. Other days, the roles are reversed. Regardless, we work together to achieve your personal goals. My journey to mental healthcare I have always been curious to understand the train of thought that leads people to make certain choices. My goals for you Overall, my approach to therapy is simple: you describe how you want your life to be, and together - through counseling and therapeutic intervention - we make it your reality. I will challenge your negativity. I will not be your punching bag. My first session with you I ask open-ended questions to help understand your current schema, determine "what is your present" and what you want "your future" to be. I am the chauffeur, you are the passenger. You determine the destination of your treatment.
