Hi, my name is Walter Orion, and I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with a Master's degree in Holistic Counseling from John F. Kennedy University. I have 16 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, children, and families, providing psychotherapy in individual, couples, family, and group settings. I specialize in humanistic, transpersonal, and somatic-body centered approaches. I work primarily from a relational, compassionate, mindfulness, and nature-based framework. This holistic approach allows my clients to integrate and transform their negative or traumatic experiences by using empathy and mindfulness awareness skills to improve their self-acceptance, increase their present-moment awareness, and enhance overall life functioning. I also utilize humor therapy and Nonviolent Communication techniques to increase my clients' ability to identify their feelings and needs and clearly communicate them in a more assertive and healthy manner. Additionally, I educate and encourage my clients to improve their daily self-care and healthy lifestyle habits in order to connect more deeply with themselves, their community, and the greater natural world.
