Wendy Long, MSW, LICSW

Psychotherapist
350 S 38th Court, 2nd Fl, Renton, WA
Wendy Long is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who has been practicing since 2003. She graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology including an emphasis in Human Services, as well as, Eastern Washington University with a Master of Social Work. Wendy uses a no-nonsense, direct approach which is appreciated by clients who seek understanding and empathy with a dose of straightforwardness. Working from a Cognitive Behavioral and Solution-Focused framework, Wendy injects optimism and humor into therapy sessions with clients. After beginning her career in community mental health working with older adults, Wendy transitioned to working for the military as a sexual assault counselor at the second largest Military Treatment Facility before finding her way into private practice. These clinical settings have informed Wendy’s belief that not all trauma looks the same, resulting in a depth of understanding that traumatic experiences across the lifespan are as unique as the individual and require nuanced treatment approaches. Wendy believes that evolving as a clinician is critical to helping clients evolve as humans and is regularly building new skills through certification to provide the best care possible. While Wendy’s primary clinical focus is working with combat trauma, and military sexual trauma survivors, she also works with clients who struggle with depression and anxiety. Wendy is an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider, and is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, as well. In her spare time, Wendy enjoys spending time with her family (both human and canine), mastering recipes in the kitchen and being part of the local running community.
